Every Iowan should feel safe in their community, their schools, and their workplace. My brother is a police officer, and I have a deep appreciation for our law enforcement and first responders. I also know that safety isn’t just about enforcement—it’s about prevention. That’s why I’ll support investing in what local law enforcement needs, more victim services, and community-based mental health response teams. I’ll work to hold dangerous criminals accountable and close loopholes that allow weapons to flood our streets. I’ll fight to fund school safety efforts that make students feel protected without turning classrooms into fortresses. Public safety means preventing crime, not just responding after it happens, to make communities safer for everyone.
