My boys attend Iowa’s great public schools, and I see the difference dedicated teachers and strong school communities make every single day. However, I’ve also seen politicians attempt to play politics with schools and dismantle public education—diverting millions of taxpayer dollars to private school vouchers while rural schools are forced to consolidate or close altogether. 

In Congress, I’ll work to protect the Department of Education and the hundreds of millions of federal dollars that flow to Iowa classrooms each year. I’ll push to raise teacher pay, expand early childhood education, and make community college and trade programs available to all. Because when we invest in public education, we invest in a better future for all of us.
