Our immigration system is broken, and Washington is making the problem worse—chaos at the border, dysfunction in the courts, and politicians deeply out of touch with the needs of our communities. Iowa is stronger because of the people who’ve made a home here and contributed to our community. But we also need a system that enforces the law and secures our borders. In Congress, I’ll push for comprehensive immigration reform that fixes our broken system: secures the border, streamlines legal pathways, protects Dreamers, and invests in preventing human trafficking and drug smuggling. We also need to ensure ICE is following the law, accountable to the American people, and protecting, not hurting, our communities. It’s long past time for solutions, not politics as usual, because the status quo is failing everyone.
