Across Iowa, families are making tough choices. I’ve met parents who ration their medications so their kids can eat, and seniors who skip meals to pay their heating bills. I’ve lived it too—paying my way through college by cleaning hotel rooms and working retail.
That’s why I’m committed to lowering costs in real, meaningful ways. This includes cracking down on corporate price gouging and ending the reckless tariff policy that is raising prices on ordinary families and wreaking havoc on Iowa’s economy. I am committed to expanding the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit to put money directly back in families’ pockets. We also need to eliminate junk fees and surprise medical bills, it is just common sense. It’s time our economy worked for Iowans again—not just corporations.
