DES MOINES, IA – Iowa farmers are staring down a disaster thanks to Zach Nunn and Donald Trump. China, our largest buyer of soybeans, has slammed the door on American soybean purchases in response to the administration’s reckless trade war. Our state’s $5.8 billion soybean market now faces losses of nearly $200 million. This is after Donald Trump bailed Argentina out to the tune of $20 billion, and they began selling their soybeans to China.
As our farmers brace for devastating financial losses and question whether they’ll be able to keep their operations alive, Zach Nunn has done absolutely nothing. Instead of fighting for Iowa farmers, Nunn rolled over for his political bosses in Washington. At a moment when our farmers need a fighter who will help them sell their products, Nunn has proven to be a coward.
