Sarah Trone Garriott Announces Major New Endorsements from IA-03 Leaders, Underscoring Her Strength as the Democrat Best Positioned to Flip IA-03

DES MOINES, IA — Today, Democratic congressional candidate Sarah Trone Garriott announced a significant new round of endorsements from respected Iowa leaders, including Iowa House Minority Leader Brian MeyerState Representative Megan Srinivas, Ankeny City Council member Jeff Perry, Des Moines City Councilmember Mike Simonson, and Susan Voss and Des Moines City Council member Carl Voss. These leaders join a rapidly growing coalition of support across the district and the state.

Iowa House Minority Leader Brian Meyer said:
“The stakes in this election could not be higher. We need a nominee who knows how to win tough races in Republican districts and who understands the cost-of-living crisis facing Iowa families. That’s Sarah Trone Garriott. She’s proven she can win in the toughest districts, she’s proven she can build broad coalitions of support across party lines, and she’s proven she shows up for people when it matters. Sarah is the right candidate to beat Zach Nunn and represent all Iowans in Congress.”

State Representative Megan Srinivas said:
“As a doctor, I see firsthand how policy decisions in Washington are hurting Iowa families, from higher health care costs to cuts in essential programs like Medicaid. Sarah Trone Garriott has consistently stood up for the people who are too often ignored or overlooked. She listens, she leads, and she delivers, which is how she’s won tough races in Republican leaning districts time and time again. We cannot afford to lose this seat, and we need someone who can show up for us in Washington. Sarah is ready on day one.”

Ankeny City Councilor Jeff Perry said:
“When we were knocking on doors this fall to support our local candidates in Ankeny, Sarah Trone Garriott was right there with us, canvassing herself. She shows up. She listens. And she works harder than anyone I’ve met in politics. Sarah understands what our community is facing because she’s out in our neighborhoods talking directly with voters. That’s the kind of representative Ankeny—and all of IA-03—deserves.”

Sarah Trone Garriott said:
“I am deeply honored to have the support of leaders like Brian Meyer, Megan Srinivas, Jeff Perry, Mike Simonson, and Carl and Susan Voss—people who know firsthand how high the stakes are for Iowa right now. Iowans are facing a crushing affordability crisis, our rights and freedoms are under attack, and Washington insiders like Zach Nunn are only making life more expensive and more uncertain.”

“This campaign is building incredible momentum because Iowans know we need a representative who will stand up for them, not special interests, not party bosses, and not the wealthy few. I’m running to lower costs for working families and to restore the balance and accountability Washington desperately needs.”

A CAMPAIGN WITH GROWING MOMENTUM

This new slate of endorsements joins the hundreds of community leaders, local elected officials, and trusted voices who have already endorsed Sarah’s campaign, demonstrating her broad support from IA-03 leaders. The full list can be viewed at SarahForIowa.com/endorsements.

Along with Sarah’s unparalleled electoral track record—flipping two GOP-held districts and winning a Trump-won district in 2024—and her record-breaking early fundraising, this demonstrates she is the clear frontrunner to defeat Zach Nunn.

With IA-03 rated a “toss-up” and control of the U.S. House likely to run through this district, Democrats’ best chance to flip this seat is with a proven winner who can unite Iowans across the political spectrum.
