DES MOINES, Iowa — Today, the Sarah Trone Garriott and Zach Nunn campaigns participated in a discussion with KCCI about scheduling a proposed debate in the IA-03 race. Unfortunately, the Nunn campaign refused to agree to the multiple October dates that were proposed by the Trone Garriott campaign. Trone Garriott campaign manager Zach Schenkman released the following statement:
“Our campaign agreed to a debate between Sarah and Congressman Nunn and offered multiple proposed dates. However, Zach Nunn’s campaign has refused to debate on one of those days. Sarah is disappointed that Zach Nunn is resorting to social media stunts instead of negotiating in good faith.
“Sarah believes you can’t represent people well without listening to them. That’s why she has held an open town hall in every one of the 21 counties in this district, where anyone can walk in and ask her anything. Zach Nunn has been in Congress for nearly four years and has never held a single open town hall. Sarah will keep doing what she has always done: showing up for Iowans in every corner of this district and answering their questions, whether they agree with her or not.”
